I appreciate the idea! Agreed, it is not recommended but I’m thinking right now, using romantic hidden elements in your code could probably get you listed as the no.1 romantic but un-romantic website on Google ;-)

Jason,
I simply presented DIVs as block elements and SPANs as inline elements without talking about their intrinsic weight or hierarchy.
I believe that’s a fitting example of elements whose nature can be dramatically altered via CSS and that, in my opinion, is part of code semantics too.
