Pixel Character
Pixel portrait done for a friend’s birthday.

This was my only experience with complex pixel characters, shading and manual antialiasing. I’m happy with the way it turned out. Pixel art is too time consuming, though, so I let it be for the moment. The skills it gave me, though, are useful now when I retouch icons at the pixel level. Nothing is ever useless…

Hi!
First off – love your work and tutorials. Great stuff!
Second, I was just wondering what type of program you were using while doing this?
Phohotshop, pencil and some patience?
Keep it up!
Tommy
Yes, Photoshop, Pencil tool with no antialiasing, one window at 100% for previewing and another maximized for working. Lots and lots of squinting and patience.
Okey, great! Not to be a pain in the ass, but how did you get two windows to focus on the same document in Photoshop?
Thanks!
Open a document then go to Window > Arrange > New window and set the zoom, rulers, extras, how you want independently.
