I designed the logo and icons for the Android application Net Worth.

The logo was requested by Mark-Jan Harte, the developer of Net Worth. He gave me three keywords as guidelines: wealth, personal and growth.
I started sketching many ideas trying to connect the three keywords into one concept. In the next image you can see all the sketches I submitted to Mark-Jan through to the final icon, presented on dark and whte backgrounds:

In retrospect it’s very interesting to see how the concept progressed from a banal chart made of coin stacks to a shiny golden tree.
I also think the sketches look cute when presented together :-)
I created the three sizes required by ANdroid for launcher icons (72, 48, 36 px) plus a big icon (512 px) for promotional uses (website etc.).

I have to say that Android’s new guidelines finally give designers room to explore many styles, a big improvement over the crippling perspective grid that was used before.
