Good news everyone: I’m on Dribbble!

Yes, thanks to a competition by Grace Smith and Paul Stanton, who put up invitations for their readers, I finally had the chance to join Dribbble, the newest, hottest designer community out there.

If you follow me on Twitter you know I’ve had conflicting thoughts on Dribbble.
While I was understandably impressed by the quality of the work on display, the invitation model put me off at first. It looked like an esoteric club for the Chosen Ones to pat each other’s back. Over the past months, though, I’ve seen Dribbble grow into a coherent community of fellow designers and illustrators who never hesitate to give useful insights.
While there’s still a strong tendency to just go wow! in response to the shots, the website has developed into a pleasant mix of inspiration and feedback for both members and non-members alike. On several occasions designers have received help from other players, resulting in better final outcomes.
I’m therefore ready to take back my words of criticism and happily join the community, hoping to make the best of it. Already it’s functioning as a strong incentive to work everyday just to publish a shot.
