Cute Little Factory Redesign!
After three weeks of intermittent designing and one week of obsessive coding I present my new blog. The immediate changes are: a wider layout, bright colors, illustrations and birds!
“Birds” is also the name of the theme I developed in WordPress.
The new look caters to the necessity for the blog to reflect my area of interest (illustration, NOT birds!) and to accomodate large screenshots for my tutorials.
I am currently updating all my posts so they fit the new layout so for the next few days the blog will look a bit odd. I apologize for that.
When I finish I’ll write a post detailing what happened behind the scenes. Of course the are many small quirks to iron out and I’ll deal with them as they pop up. For now enjoy the new look and of course your feedback is appreciated!

I’ll leave a first post. A found your blog recently, through designbump, ybout designing a rocket, and I liked your work immediately. First blog was beautifull, this is even better…
Thank you!
very nice clean design Andrea . Lovely design:)
I didn’t see the previous design, but the new one – it’s simply amazing. it’s sweet and clean, and I love it!
Ofri,
thanks! Your website is cool too. I love the fat pencil in your favicon and your drawing videos will be useful as I’m starting out with the tablet.
The redesign looks very refreshing.. and the birds have become a very popular mascot for your site :D
Very nice design, but the old one was ok to.
Thanks. The old site was designed with other needs in mind and as the blog evolved I had to step up the layout.
What´s happened with you old logo, the A with smoke?, I can see it in the favicon, is the new one an A with a mustache? very nice, :)
This is supposed to be a cross between an A and an apple but I see it is not clear. Check this out for more info: http://www.flickr.com/photos/andreaaustoni/4422011689/
I guess I’ll keep changing my logo since I can’t fix on one.
Oh, it´s an apple! Sorry for the confusion, :) ..but why an apple? is there a post where you explain this process? Maybe if you draw the leaves a little more up, just a suggestion.
Yes, I published it on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/andreaaustoni/4422011689/
You know, an apple a day keeps the doctor away…
