I recently bought a stack of Poland Illustrated magazines from the 60′s-70′s because the wrap-around covers ( and some interiors) are all done by Polish Poster artists. I love your article and the chance to see the fabulous posters you include. Thanks

First of all, many thanks to both of you for your kindly reply.

I haven’t came up a concrete outline for my thesis yet, but I might focus on the Polish poster design from WWII through the fall of Communism. I learned that there’s a film called Freedom on the Fence which also deals with this subject, and with those useful links Andrea provided in The Legacy of Polish Poster Design, I’m positive I’ll find my research orientation in no time!!

I haven’t been to Poland actually, maybe I should start planning a trip this summer to acquaint myself with this beautiful place!! (well ..before I start my M.A. study in England on September. I’m a student in Visual Communication, by the way).

you should refer to some of the websites I listed in the links at the end of the article. There are some knowledgeable people who speak English there.
Polish can be tough so you probably should concentrate on a more accessible subject, but don’t give up just yet.

Some weird things happen because of my name and because of my hair. Oh boy!

Buongiorno,
Great article, which gave me an idea for my future PhD thesis in Design History. Seriously. But I guess I still need to narrow down my study area, any suggestions?

Beside, I don’t speak Polish, and is almost impossible for me to learn this language, do you think it will be a problem to carry out a research relates to this country?
